How to dress when you are under 1m60? What cuts do you prefer? What types of patterns to choose? Here are so many questions that we are led to ask ourselves if we do not know how to highlight our small size. I give you here some tips to highlight your silhouette. And above all, remember that everything that is small is pretty so beat the complexes!

Choose the right color harmonies

Choosing the right clothes also means choosing the right color. In addition to the fact that they are adapted to your colorimetry, it is more a question here of color harmony (an article is coming soon to explain how to combine colors with each other). When you are small, the ideal is to visually lengthen the silhouette and therefore avoid “breaks”. For this, the harmony that will best suit is the monochrome harmony (or shades). A monotone or monochrome harmony is a harmony of the same color declined in several shades. For example, an outfit consisting of light blue, medium blue and dark blue is a monochrome harmony. Mainly avoid harmonies composed of opposite colors. Indeed, this will bring a visual break and will flatten your silhouette instead of lengthening it. The good news is also that you can wear long dresses as well as jumpsuits! However, be sure to choose a model that structures the silhouette and that is neither too fluid nor a loose top. We will also take care to structure the silhouette by marking the waist.

Choose the right accessories

Accessories are a must when you’re little. They allow you to style an outfit and emphasize the details and the style of the outfit in general rather than its small size. However, you have to choose them carefully. We will favor small, medium and fine accessories. Indeed, bulkier accessories will tend to take over the rest of the outfit and crush the silhouette. For bags, we therefore prefer them medium or small and rather with a long strap in order to give an effect of size while verticality. For jewelry, we will also choose them rather thin and we will favor necklaces rather than chokers in order to also give this impression of length.

Regarding shoes, you are lucky, you can afford heels, even very high ones! Be careful, however, not to fall into excess to avoid any form of vulgarity. For winter, we avoid boots that reach mid-calf, they deconstruct the silhouette and will make you look smaller.

Choose the right prints

In the same way as the large ones, the prints will be to be chosen according to its morphology. The prints that interest us here are stripes. Indeed, consider favoring vertical stripes in order to lengthen the silhouette. This gives an impression of size and height to the silhouette.

Choose the right cuts

Here again, the goal is to give a look of height to the silhouette. We therefore avoid loose clothing that packs the silhouette, long jackets or low-waisted pants. On the other hand, we prefer fitted clothes, of fluid material and close to the body if you are round, mid-rise cuts and short jackets. We also think of structuring the silhouette well by marking the waist in particular (if the latter is marked, otherwise, we wear cuts that are close to the body but not tight). We also favor short clothes such as mini skirts or crop tops.

Also remember that it’s all about proportions, so we always make sure to highlight the silhouette, keeping in mind that it is important to balance the proportions of the body.
