For most of us, putting on makeup is a habit that is part of our morning routine. And if some of our habits are good to repeat every morning, others are perhaps to be avoided.
1. Choose a foundation that is not suitable for your complexion
The foundation, which we could call our good-looking ally, is an integral part of our beauty routine. Whether you are a fan of liquid or powder foundation or a BB cream, its usefulness remains the same: to unify your complexion. And by unifying, we don’t mean “looking like you’ve just returned from a 15-day vacation in Bora Bora”. No. You choose your foundation in the same color as your skin and according to your complexion. Rosé if our skin is pinkish and the veins are bluish or golden if the complexion is more yellow/golden and the veins are green.
Make-up advice : To choose the right foundation, choose the color that comes as close as possible to your skin color. It is tried on the side of the jaw and by being as much as possible towards the light of day. If we hesitate between two colors, we will prefer the lighter of the two.
2. Use bronzer all over the face
Bronzing powder, as its name suggests, is used to give the complexion a nice natural tan. To do so, it is therefore important to insist on the “natural” side. Indeed, too much bronzer used on the whole face instead of a compact powder or a loose powder will not give the desired healthy glow effect, but will turn our complexion orange in less than time than it takes to say it. A fter the foundation, we therefore choose to apply a veil of loose powder (transparent or the color of your complexion) to avoid shine, mainly on the T zone. We then apply, if desired, a bronzer, on the parts of the face that are supposed to catch the light and therefore tan in the sun: the top of the cheekbones, the top of the forehead and a little on the nose.
Make-up advice : To apply your bronzing powder in a natural way, take a large brush and apply the powder in a 3 formation starting from the top of the forehead, returning to the top of your cheekbones and then ending with the jaw bone. A little on the nose and we stop there ,Also avoid choosing a color that is too orange if your complexion is pink.
3. Overuse blush
The usefulness of blush is to apply a touch of light and radiance to the cheekbones. Here again, this must be done in a natural and imperceptible way. We therefore keep a light hand at the risk of passing for a Barbie doll. For an optimal effect, it is also chosen according to its skin tone: pink or orange.
Make-up advice: choose the color of the blush according to your skin tone. To apply it, use a suitable brush (beveled or not depending on your application preference) and stretch the material upwards. If you have applied too much blush, go back with a light veil of powder on your cheekbones.
4. Putting too much black on her eyes
Often, by applying black to his eyes, we tell ourselves that our gaze will be intensified. However, it depends on many other factors. Depending on the shape of our eyes, dark circles present or not or even our age, we realize that black on the eyes is not always a good idea. Indeed, too much black on the eyes tends to shrink or enclose the look. With age, too much black applied to the eyes will also have an aging effect and make the look look severe rather than bright. A pretty, thin line of eyeliner or a look underlined with a thin line of pencil will always be on top.
Make-up advice: we avoid locking the look above and below with black on the entire eye, it locks the look and makes it lose its intensity. We also prefer a thin line to emphasize the look rather than a thick line.
5. Make up your eyelids the same color as your eyes
One of the most common mistakes is to believe that by making up your eyelids the same color as your eyes, it will enhance them. On the contrary, making them up in this way will make them lose intensity. The ideal is to make up your eyes with a color that is opposite to it on the chromatic circle. Blue eyes, for example, will go perfectly with a pretty taupe or an eye shadow with a golden reflection, while green eyes will wear plum colors wonderfully.
Make-up advice: we associate the eyeshadow with a color opposite to our eyes for an optimal result. We also think of our complexion to choose the color: in cold tones if our skin is dewy and in warm tones if our skin is golden.
6. Confusing daytime makeup with evening makeup
Even more than accentuating the look and the mouth at the same time, the mistake is to wear make-up during the day as one would wear make-up to go to an event in the evening. The intense gaze, the pronounced smockey eyes or the carmine mouth are best reserved for the evening. During the day, prefer a nice gradient on the eyelid and a fruity mouth.
Make-up advice: For make-up suitable for the day, focus above all on the complexion. A pretty complexion, a little lipstick and mascara and you’re done. If you are a fan of intense lipstick, then have a light hand on the eyes, especially for daytime makeup.
7. Not removing makeup before going to sleep
Fatal error, not removing make-up before going to sleep is the one to absolutely banish. Indeed, the skin needs to breathe and regenerate during the night. Makeup clogs the pores and, in the long term, skin problems can appear. We therefore do not skip this step under any circumstances. Even if we come home in the wee hours of the morning, we go through the make-up removal box
